I am a recent Master's graduate in Tourism Management. During this time, I was exposed to learning about business development, product development, and teamwork as some of the modules included: Sustainable Tourism, Destination Development, Events, and Tourism Consumption. The most challenging module was Marketing. The coursework was a team effort where we had to create a new product for an existing company. My role was to create a reasonable budget and timeline so that it could potentially be picked up by the chosen company.
My most recent work experience is a Client Account Support role at SilverDoor Apartments. I was responsible for developing my own client portfolio and ensuring repeat business by providing high-quality service. I’ve deeply developed my communication, organisation, and time management skills as the role focused on acquiring booking requests from clients, and with their requirements, I had to find the most suitable properties for them whilst negotiating the best deals for the client and the company.
I have developed a passion for software engineering as I like to be challenged and I’m motivated by seeing results whilst working on projects. By being self-taught I was able to expand on many skills such as discipline, how to be resourceful and motivated. Setting up deadlines and goals helps with being productive and managing time well.
